Czar Floors Limited Warranty

Effective October 14, 2026. Products purchased before this date are covered by the warranty in effect at the time of purchase.

Czar Floors warrants its products against manufacturing defects for the terms below. Coverage depends on the product, not on whether the installation is residential or commercial. Commercial installations must also meet the conditions in section 5.

Czar Floors wood products are manufactured at a moisture content of 6–9% and graded in accordance with NWFA/NOFMA standards. All material is supplied as specified on the Czar Floors invoice.

1. Who is covered

This warranty covers the original purchaser named on the Czar Floors invoice. When a contractor, designer, or dealer purchases product for a specific project, the warranty also extends to the owner of the property where the product is first installed, and either of them may submit a claim. This warranty is not transferable. Coverage begins on the date of purchase shown on the invoice.

2. Coverage by product

Normal expansion, contraction, and seasonal changes in joints are characteristics of solid wood, not defects. Site-applied finishes are not covered by Czar Floors (see section 6).

3. What Czar Floors will do

If Czar Floors confirms a covered defect, it will, at its option, repair the affected product, replace it with the same or comparable Czar Floors product, or refund the purchase price of the affected product. Czar Floors pays standard ground shipping of repaired or replacement product to the installation address. This is the sole remedy.

The remedy covers Czar Floors product only. It does not cover labor; removal or reinstallation; sanding or refinishing; moving of furniture, fixtures, or equipment; business interruption; or lost revenue. Repaired or replacement product is warranted only for the remainder of the original term.

4. Conditions of coverage (all installations)

Czar Floors products are approved for use in fully enclosed, climate-controlled interior residential spaces and in the commercial spaces listed in section 5. Coverage applies only when all of the following conditions are met:

  1. Inspection before installation. The installer and purchaser inspect all product before installation. If any product has a visible defect, contact Czar Floors before installing it. Installation of product with visible defects constitutes acceptance of that product.
  2. Storage and acclimation. Product is stored in a fully enclosed, climate-controlled space, off the floor, and acclimated in accordance with Czar Floors installation instructions. Parquet, including herringbone and chevron, must be installed within 30 days of delivery to the job site; parquet installed later is not covered. Schedule delivery when the site is ready; Czar Floors can hold your order until then. Need more time? Ask us. Extensions are available in writing for specific projects.
  3. Building conditions. The space is enclosed and the HVAC system is operating before delivery, during installation, and for the life of the floor.
  4. Humidity and temperature. Relative humidity is maintained at 35–55% and temperature at 60–80°F.
  5. Subfloor. The subfloor is structurally sound, flat, and tested for moisture before installation. Radiant heating, where used, is regulated so the subfloor surface temperature never exceeds 80°F.
  6. Installation. The product is installed in accordance with Czar Floors installation instructions and the NWFA Installation Guidelines.   7. Maintenance. The floor is maintained in accordance with the finish manufacturer's instructions and NWFA maintenance recommendations (www.nwfa.org).

5. Commercial installations

Czar Floors products are approved for fully enclosed, climate-controlled interior commercial spaces, including offices, showrooms, retail stores, galleries, conference rooms, restaurant dining areas, and hotel lobbies and corridors. All approved commercial uses carry the same terms as section 2.

Commercial installations must also meet these conditions:

  1. Records. The owner keeps humidity and temperature records for the space, which must accompany any claim.
  2. Moisture testing. Subfloor moisture is tested before installation (concrete per ASTM F2170 or F1869; wood subfloors with a pin or pinless meter), and the results are recorded.
  3. Installer. The floor is installed by a professional flooring contractor.
  4. Protection. Walk-off matting is placed at every exterior entry so the wood floor is not the first surface walked on. Protective pads or glides are used under furniture, luggage carts, and equipment, and chair mats are used under rolling chairs.
  5. Finish. The floor carries a finish system rated for the space's traffic and is maintained under the finish manufacturer's commercial maintenance program.

Exterior, wet, or unconditioned spaces, commercial kitchens, and any area with standing or recurring water are not covered.

This is Czar Floors' product warranty. It is separate from the installing contractor's warranty on workmanship, including any correction period required by a construction contract.

6. Finishes

Czar Floors does not warrant site-applied finishes. Sanding, staining, and finishing performed on site are the responsibility of the finishing contractor and are subject to the finish manufacturer's warranty.

Where Czar Floors supplies a product prefinished, Czar Floors warrants the factory finish against wear-through and separation for one year from the date of purchase. Reduced gloss, scratches, and dents are not wear-through.

7. Stone and marble products

Stone is a natural material. In addition to the exclusions in section 8, this warranty does not cover:

  • Natural fissures, pits, veining, and fill, or variation in color, shade, and pattern.
  • Etching or staining from acids, cleaners, or spills, or loss of polish from wear.
  • Damage from failure to seal or reseal the stone; sealing is the purchaser's responsibility.
  • Cracking caused by subfloor deflection or movement. Stone set into a wood floor must be installed over a subfloor and underlayment that meet stone-industry deflection requirements.

8. Exclusions (all products)

This warranty does not cover:

  • Cupping, crowning, buckling, gapping, cracking, or glue-bond failure caused by humidity or temperature outside the stated ranges, by subfloor moisture, or by radiant heating that raises the subfloor surface temperature above 80°F.
  • Separation of the product from the subfloor when it was installed with an adhesive other than those approved in Czar Floors installation instructions.
  • Wear, scratches, dents, and indentations from foot traffic, grit, high heels, pets, furniture, equipment, rolling loads, or casters.
  • Damage from improper storage before installation; from leaking or broken plumbing, flooding, fire, storms, or other disasters; or from water, spills left standing, cleaning products not approved for the material, wet mopping, or steam cleaning.
  • Color change from UV light and natural aging.
  • Natural variation in color, grain, and character between samples and delivered product, or between Czar Floors product and surrounding field flooring or millwork.
  • Differences between delivered product and photographs, on-screen colors, Floor Designer layouts, or AI room previews.
  • Design, size, species, and color selections approved by the purchaser on custom orders.
  • Samples, display pieces, and products sold "as is" or as seconds.
  • Improper installation, or installation not in accordance with Czar Floors installation instructions.
  • Use outside the approved uses described in sections 4 and 5, or a change in use after installation.
  • Repair, sanding, or refinishing performed before Czar Floors inspects the claim.

9. How to file a claim

  1. Notify Czar Floors in writing at sales@czarfloors.com or the address below within 30 days of discovering the problem, and before the warranty term ends.
  2. Include the invoice, installation address, photos, installer name, and installation date. Commercial claims must also include the subfloor moisture test results and the humidity and temperature records.
  3. Allow Czar Floors or its representative to inspect the floor and take samples. Do not repair or replace the affected area until the claim has been reviewed.

10. Limitations

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE TERM OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. FOR PRODUCTS PURCHASED FOR COMMERCIAL OR BUSINESS USE, ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE DISCLAIMED. EXCEPT AS STATED IN THIS WARRANTY, CZAR FLOORS MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. CZAR FLOORS SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL CZAR FLOORS' TOTAL LIABILITY ON ANY CLAIM, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, BREACH OF WARRANTY, OR OTHERWISE, EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE AFFECTED CZAR FLOORS PRODUCT.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

This warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, except where the law of the state of installation requires otherwise. If any part of this warranty is found unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in effect. These terms can be modified or extended only in writing by an authorized representative of Czar Floors, for example by a project-specific warranty letter.
